About Me
Nick Meador received a BS in Zoology and an MA in Journalism, both from Michigan State University. He worked as a web manager for a few years. Now Nick works a variety of jobs to support his creative projects and community facilitation. He is a “sporeganizer” for Evolver Boulder, a regional hub in the international Evolver Network.
Nick is working on his first book, tentatively titled All These Serious Faces Will Only Drive You Mad. To help bring the book to life, he is accepting donations in return for gifts, ranging from project updates to copies of the book.
Nick created the experimental magazine Supraterranean, where people could self-publish any type of creative work and the audience chose the featured content. He ran the Refractor blog over there. In 2010, Nick self-published the e-book Seeking the Upward Spiral, a collection of early works.
He is originally from Troy, Michigan, but currently lives in Boulder.

Why .Org Instead of .Com?
“Memory is autobiography; its author is the ‘self,’ an especially potent organization of schemas. Sometimes also called the ‘self-system or ‘self-concept,’ it is that set of schemas that define what we mean by ‘I,’ ‘me,’ and ‘mine,’ that codify a sense of oneself and one’s world.” – Daniel Goleman, Vital Lies, Simple Truths: The Psychology of Self-Deception
But also, nickmeador.com is occupied by capitali-squatters.
Acknowledgments
The space-time event* currently referred to as “Nick Meador” feels a sense of gratitude toward the following events for their self-realization in the form of written or verbal communication. In more common words, Nick has benefited immeasurably in terms of existential well-being for having lived after or at the same time as these people, and for having access to their work via the Internet and other means:
Norman O. Brown, Joseph Campbell, Joseph Conrad, Adam Curtis, Charles Darwin, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Sigmund Freud, R. Buckminster Fuller, Betty Friedan, William Golding, Stanislav Grof, Bill Hicks, Aldous Huxley, William James, Carl Jung, Lawrence Lessig, Henry Miller, Arnold Mindell, Friedrich Nietzsche, George Orwell, Hunter S. Thompson, Alan Watts, Robert Anton Wilson, Howard Zinn
*Update Feb 2012: Since writing this statement I have come to understand that “I” am not merely a “space-time event” — but that parts of my existential process fall outside of our “four-dimensional” physical universe and in fact extend infinitely.
Now for something lighter…
Gravitational Playtime
This is a video of me skiing at Alta and the Canyons in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains in February 2010. Thanks to my brother David Meador (Think Feel Pictures) for filming and producing/editing the video!
